Why Not Make An Animated Series Like Clone Wars Instead Of Comics?

I love star wars clone wars, I remember when I was told by someone on this board to watch clone wars because of anakin’s charcater (I mean we all know he sucked in the prequel films) however clone wars even with its inconsistencies, when put again the original star wars trilogy is still great and fun to watch.

Star Trek should make an animation series like clone wars, I WOULD PREFER THAT TO COMICS.

With comics there is absolutely no financial risk for CBS.

The animated Star Wars came along after the movies and I suspect that they will do the same here. The actors are probably signed for 3 movies and then may move on so an animated show would be a logical progression if they don't want to reboot, recast, or introduce new characters. A live action TV show (possibly a hard reboot) with a new cast is also a (slim) possibility.
