Why not another animated series?

To keep us busy until we wait for the next movie? Similar to the CGI Star Wars Clone Wars and Rebels cartoons.

You could perhaps get some of the JJ Abrams movie cast, or good soundalikes to voice the characters.

I'd be all for it. It would be less expensive than making a live action TV series.

Nickolodeon apparently wanted to do an animated TNG years ago, but Berman refused.

I would love to see a CGI animated series, though personally I think the format would lend itself better to a whole new ship and crew--one that would feature alien-looking aliens, which would be great to see.

Until 2016 Summer? If this were to go into Pre-production now we would be looking at late 2016 or 2017.
