why iTunes doesn't matter

Rev3 has a devoted fanbase and that's all they really need.
Yeah, they expanded far too much and laid off a group of people, but for the 20-something drunk and high nerd, Diggnation seems to be the perfect show.

Personally, I only follow iFanboy mostly because it's the only comic book video show that I know of, but that's the point - a show like that is not sustainable on "real" TV but on the net it'll do just fine.

Again, if Whedon can make money off Whedonites or Whedoncoats or Whedolls or whatever they call themselves now, selling directly to the audience is a viable alternative to straight broadcast television.

All it will take is the US to get out of the Internet stone age and have high fiber connections to every building like they have in Japan. Maybe it'll take WW3 for that to happen, but it'll happen eventually.

Whats killing TV revenue IMO is DVRS. I don't really know anyone who watches HEROS or LOST live. I DVR everything and, ta da, skip through the ads...but it an incest business. I get cable from TIME WARNER. TIMER WARNER like all TV giants are having to lower ad rates because the sponcers are increasingly aware that people DVR shows and don't watch ads...and who gives me the DVR? Why..Time Warner of course....

Just for fun, I scanned their pages, acting like an Average Consumer willing to be grabbed by something.

Revision3 - video game stuff, something about Star Wars, nothing looks interesting enough to click on. Got bored and left.

Revision3 do not make a video games show. They do make, however, Tekzilla (technology buying guides, reviews, how-tos, questions and answers etc) and Systm (which is about making things - a headphone amp for instance) which are excellent shows and beat anything like it on traditional television.

The do also make iFanboy which is a cult TV/comic books/movies show but I don't watch that.

Mevio - interesting that they provide categories to focus your viewing but I doubt I fit neatly into stereotypical Female or Male viewing patterns. Just clicked on the Channels - looks like the crap you'd find on TV during the day on basic cable. Talk shows about fashion, video games, etc. Cheap, uninteresting. Nothing grabbed me. Got bored and left.

They also cover Cali Lewis' GeekBrief.TV which is another excellent technology related show.
