Why I voted for him!

The link is messed up, but atleast the picture shows up. I didn't know obama was. Although I know Martin Luther King Jr. was a trekkie. He's the one that convinced Nichols to stay on the show.

That's groovy & all but being a Trekster wouldn't be a strong enough reason for me to vote for someone.

I didn't know Obama was a Trekster.

That's nifty:cool:

I think Vreenak might have something to say about that... ;)

Very fun!

^ I don't think it can be proven one way or the other, but Nichelle Nichols has definitely told a variety of versions of that story over the years, each different, and they've become more and more grandiose as time went on.

Newsweek quoted him back during the campaign season, but they misquoted him as saying, "The lithium crystals! Beam me up, Scotty!"
I read it, went *facepalm*, and thought, "Dilithium! He said dilithium! Are there no Star Trek fans at Newsweek?"

I wondered briefly if I ought to send them a letter with the correction, but never did.

IT'S A FAAAAAAAAAAKE!

Photoshop alert!
Ya think?

I know Martin Luther King Jr. was a trekkie. He's the one that convinced Nichols to stay on the show.

Isn't that like an urban legend or something?

Considering Nichols herself is quoted as saying it? I suppose it's possible she lied, but I doubt it.
She's quoted as saying it but she has changed that story a hundred times and she did it again this summer at the Vegas Convention to the point where really don't what to believe.

But perhaps the myth is more important than its veracity.
