and i dont mean the guy in the bunny costume in TOS either!

my question is, why have we seen no bunny rabbits as pets for any of the characters? weve seen a dog, a cat, a fish, and even a tribble (in discovery).

for gods sake, i think bunny rabbits have been severely under-represented in star trek and i dont think its right at all. they are perfectly fine pets that are easy to take care of. and i honestly believe that if there was a rabbit hopping around on the bridge, it would relieve tension and stress for the bridge crew.

they could even put a little uniform on the bunny!

  3. I actually heard that almost everyone on Star trek are suffering from Leporiphobia,
the paralyzing fear of evil mutant bunny rabbits.... And who can blame them really?
Exposure treatment could be the only thing that would cure them tho...
Maby ease them into it starting with guinea pigs?

Perhaps bunnies were a crucial ingredient in Augment DNA and were exterminated after Khan's exile.

  5. Ah yeah..there was a terrible accident with that, starfleet raised a memorial statue in Europa and had to extend a public apology, rumors about settlement etc....
I dont know, something bad happened, maby thats why everyone in starfleet are afraid of bunnies

David Gerrold mentioned in his book "The Trouble With Tribbles" (the making of the episode) that there was some issue with possible plagiarism from the earlier Heinlein novel "The Rolling Stones" (Martian flatcats that breed like crazy). Gerrold was understandably embarrassed about this and said, "Look, I thought I was telling the rabbits in Australia story." (introduce a prolific species into an environment where it has no natural predators and its numbers will skyrocket very quickly)

So rabbits were mentioned in Star Trek. Sorta.

Speaking as a one-time rabbit owner, I am also outraged by this omission of pet diversity.

The next Star Trek series entitles Star Trek: Discovery: The Next Generation will feature a rabbit crew member. The media will praise it for its revolutionary diversity. However, dog owners will slam the series for being "too diverse."

It may have something to do with the fact that Starfleet uses a clip from Monty Python and the Holy Grail as part of their training video.
