Why does Nimoy look YOUNGER in this movie?

I don't know...he looked old and tired in STVI and Unification, but not here!
Hmm, I never really thought he looked bad.
Granted, STVI was about them getting old, so in the context of the story, I guess it didn't cross my mind.
And in Unification...I dunno, he was spending way too much time with the Romulans. They probably stressed him out.
Maybe he got a puppy. I hear those are good for improving the health of old people.

First time I saw that screenshot from Trek XI I thought 1)Wow it's really nice to see him again as Spock and 2) Wow he's really gotten old
Could be the make up to make him look this old in the movie though...

No, we're talking about Leonard Nimoy appearing at the end of the new version of the trailer as Old Spock.
The Vulcan you're talking about is Spock's father, I think.
And I think Nimoy looks older, and wiser. I think I also read that they aged him a little for this part.

That's Ben Cross as Sarek. There was a new shot integrated into the trailer with Spock saluting "Live Long and Prosper." In that shot he looks older. He looks like he aged about 20 human years since Unification, which must make up for Spock and Sarek not aging a day between Star Trek VI and Unification (in Berman-era Trek they really seem to have exaggerated the Vulcans-live-longer-than-humans thread by not aging any Vulcan much once they reach adulthood, though obviously in the real world of course Lenard and Nimoy shot their scenes for both productions within a year of each other.).Could it be because he's invigorated by the new blood on trek?

Well Nimoy always looks a bit younger when he's smiling or has a pleasant look on his face, like in the trailer or at conventions.
But when he's acting serious or weary, as in STVI and Unification, he can look considerably older. I mean, just look at this pic:

Nimoy looks perfectly alright for a man of his age; and the reason he looks older to some is probably because of the white wig.

Any aging issues with Spock the character can be explained at least in part by his half-human DNA and lineage. Chronologically, Spock was only 62 or 63 years old in THE UNDISCOVERED COUNTRY but looked a bit older and much more haggard...especially when you consider that Tuvok on VOYAGER was 109 years old at the time of the 24th century events in "Flashback" but looked closer to thirty or forty.
Tuvok was a full-blooded Vulcan(so far as anyone ever knew) while Spock wasn't. Hence he aged more like a Terran than most Vulcans.

Except that the rate of aging was inconsistent, and seemed to parallel Sarek's aging process. Both of them seemed to age 20 human years between TOS and the later movies, then they didn't age at all until TNG. In the years since TNG Spock appears to have aged at a much quicker rate again. I guess Sarek had some genetic abnormalities. I can only guess that with Sarek it's better explained that he's just a generation older than Spock so his aging isn't quite as pronounced, though I'd think his disease would have aged him quite a bit.
