Why does Germany get the cool novel covers?

Cross Cult has posted a cover draft for their fourth TOS novel (After the Crucible trilogy), currently slated for January (which means it should come out sometime mid 2013)

They haven't outright said yet if it is indeed the German translation of Mudd in your Eye as 8of5 and most people commenting on it on Facebook and on CC's forum think, but I don't really see any other likely candidate where Mudd would fit as "cover model" of a novel not yet translated to German.

Is that Dennis Bailey's version of the Phase II-Enterprise (minus the nacelles)?
They've updated the cover with a different Enterprise pic.
