why do you think no 1 want vick?

Because Vick is a thug and a dog-abuser who doesn't deserve to play ever again.

Tell me, would you want a convicted criminal playing on your team? :vulcan:

I was a Falcons fan before Vick showed up. There was something I just didn't like about him and I followed Chris Chandler to the Bears.

I REALLY don't like him now.

Nobody will take him.

I'm sick to death of hearing all this "He deserves a second chance" nonsense.

If an average Joe with a decent job did something like this, he'd be working the graveyard griddle shift at Denny's when he got out.

I'm getting a BAD vibe in the press that we (Patriots) are going to end up with him. Ugh! How are we Boston fans getting dragged into this?

michael vick can not get a term to take him! he done his time why you think there are no taker?;)
The season hasn't even started. A couple of years ago people here were arguing that he would never be reinstated by the league. I think you give NFL owners way too much credit. Vick is still too "hot" right now. Picking him up is still too prominent on too many people's radar.

He may have to play in a lesser league to show that he still can contribute. I think once he does that some NFL owner will take a chance on him. In fact, it may even happen sooner.

And BTW, the fans are just as bad. You wait until Vick signs with an NFL team and starts helping that team win, the fans of that team will suddenly find that "he deserves a second chance", "he paid what he owed". Baseball fans are willing to brush players' past drug use under the rug, NFL fans will eventually do no less with Vick.

I fully expect the Raiders to sign Vick after JaMarcus Russell throws a pass into the stands, Darrius Heyward-Bey performs like the fifth-rounder he is and Tom Cable makes an offhand comment about Al Davis mixing his drinks with 4 parts whiskey and 1 part Coke.

There's a few things working against him. Nobody knows quite when he will be eligible to play, just that it will be decided by Week 6. There's nothing to stop Goodell from saying in Week 5 that he will be full reinstated in Week 12.

No one knows his skill level right now. Before he went to jail, many doubted his ability to be a true NFL QB. Freakish athleticism, but poor judgment on the field. Low completion percentage, too many picks-to-touchdowns ratio. Now two years out of the game, where is he?

What I think is the biggest is the public image hit whoever signs him will take, which translates to money. What happens when a couple of your biggest sponsors pull out because they don't want to be associated with that? Not to mention the fan backlash and protests that will be sure to occur.

A QB who was already on the decline before taking a two-year absence away from the game? I don't know why anyone would ever pass on that!

PETA can't wait for him to sign with a team so they can use it as a platform to speak on the injustice of feeding helpless fish to dolphins at the aquarium, and how it's disrespectful to dead fish by throwing them through the air for otters and seals to eat.

No one is signing him because his talent was questionable before he went to lock up.

QFT

I dont even know why people would ever think about considering him. Other than the bad PR for taking him on, he's just too much of a shit to waste time and money on.

I still don't understand why people think playing in the NFL is something Vick is ENTITLED to.

I also don't understand how people who hate Vick with a passion over the dog fighting give Leonard Little a free pass for drunk driving vehicular manslaughter... and then afterward he was caught driving drunk again!

When Donte Stallworth had his incident this offseason, I was tempted to start a thread here titled, "Donte Stallworth has a Little problem."

I'm reminded of something I heard on Around The Horn today, though I don't remember which panelist said it.

Teams have signed and fans have cheered for people who have done far worse in ways of domestic abuse, DUI's, weapons charges etc.

I don't like Vick and I do agree with the comment that if he was an average Joe he'd be working the midnight shift at Denny's, but he will play on an NFL team again.
