Why do they dismantle or destroy old Star Trek bridges?

Just scan/photograph it, and create a gallery of photos, both screenshots, behind the scenes photos of details that don't show up in the filming shots. Things can be created when necessary, but in the meantime, digital images take up less space than actual used sets do.

Nah, I'd use a drone, as well as a 3d scanner like LiDAR.

Especially if it's a bitcoin mining farm.

Thing is that people need to realize is that mall space is at a premium. .

Bitcoin mining is best done in a dead mall:

That could keep a mall paid…be quieter for neighbors—and keep sets alive.

Sorry to necro…but this is important

Then too…

Sets would need to be dismantled, transported, reassembled, and maintained. Plus staff on hand to provide tours.

How expensive would this be? Would it be worth the investment?

Since the set would need disassembled for transport, then is it still the original set? Hailing USS Theseus

I know this is old, but look at Farscape for reasons why stages are torn down or reused. In the show they are running down hallways and they are not different new ones. They are the same ones. Every show has a budget. I think Sci Fi more than most. Hey, look at Doctor Who, they work out of a phone booth! :D

I had a wicked thought about a demolition team called in to destroy a bridge and then arriving at Paramount and thinking "Eh, what the hell, we'll do it."
And that made think of this from a guilty pleasure movie:
" Well, they're probably experts at building things, whereas I'm an expert at blowing them up, and you can take it from me that one would need a good eight hours to make a decent job on that bridge."
