Why didnt they atleast send a message or probe? (Caretaker)

Hey i am watching voyager for the first time in over 2 years, and after seeing caretaker again i thought to myself, why didnt they atleast send a message or probe to the federation or alpha quadrant?

I am sure the station was advanced enough and sending a probe couldnt be that complex, and if the federation knew it from the beginning that voyager was 70000 light years away they could have worked earlier to bring voyager back in some way!

TNG, Tuvok found a big button marked "return to sender" just before Janeway made her final decision, but the laborious process would take a couple hours to run through it's "a to z" of bollocks, unless banjoman cut through the red tape for them, but he couldn't be arsed. Janeway didn't have "several hours" because she felt that the kazon threat was imminent. Reinforcements were coming, and what was on hand at the moment anyway was enough to take out her ship which was running on about %15 percent (look at Season 2's Projections, the repair teams talk about the damage during a holographic doover of Caretaker.) of it's full capabilities... Which means that they ran without "saving" the Ocampa if they did completely feel threatened even if supposedly the kazon would have scattered now that they had nothing to argue with kathy about except for their mineral deposits and refinery on the surface of ocampa as well as it's tactical position between the other sects.

If Janeway had been listening to Neelix when he explained how feudal their culture was, she should have figured out that putting out an SOS or distress call would be just the sign of weakness needed to see the other sects pounce on Ogla territories and assimilate this faction of Kazon completely to the death even.

A much bigger missed opportunity was at the end of Inside Man, when they were right next to the spatial anomaly that could transport anything except organic matter between there and the AQ. Starfleet should have been sending automated resupply ships through until Voyager couldn't take anymore.

Or they could have gotten one of those Kelvin buckle blasters From By any other Name, which converted "people" into little dodecahedrons of inert matter.

Or they could have received replacement crew of many Horta.

12 Horta on that ship and no one would (*&* with them ever again.

They say that it'd take several hours to either just power up the transporation system or to translate and understand just how to do that (I don't remember which). With the Kazon right outside, there probably wasn't time to load up a probe/message bouy with 'Hey, Starfleet, this is Voyager. We're kinda stuck in the Delta Quadrant - long story. Mind trying to come up with some technobabble solution to get us home? Love, Janeway' written on it, given that if the Kazon got their hands on the Caretaker's technology, technology which is beyond the Federation's, they figure that hell would probably break loose. Granted, once we spent more time with them, we the audience realize that the Kazon would probably just use the technology to beat each other over the heads with shinier weaponry, but at the time of Caretaker, we didn't know that.

^ That's pretty much it. The Kazon threat was very real for all of them and if they didn't destroy the array at that point it was very likely that the Kazon would find a way to take control over it.

They were caught up in the middle of a situation and probably didn't have the time to send a probe to the Alpha Quadrant.

The probably sent dozens of probes at regular warp speed, I mean if Starfleet probes had already sketched the general outline of the delta Quadrant decades to centuries earlier... Considering all the short cuts she took, our intrepid crew would they have caught up with a bunch of their own probes they'd launched ahead of themselves, but there will be distress probes arriving from Voyager to the AQ/Federation for generations to come.
