Who's The Boss? Reboot

Well, I wonder who's boss greenlighted this ;)

I dunno, seems like a weird one to revive other than to give Tony Danza some work.

A reboot or a revival?

I mean... Do people even know what "reboot" means?

"Rebooting" your computer isn't when you re-open a previously closed program.

I've long since given up trying to argue that. It's like pushing back the tide. ;)

As for the show, my first reaction is "Who wants this?" ...but I've been wrong before on old show revivals, and I'm sure I will be again.

From what I've heard, it's a continuation and sequel series, similar to Fuller House. They'll be back at the same house. She'll be married with kids of her own.

Yeah, exactly. It has me wondering what kind of demo they're aiming for? Those who grew up with the show aren't exactly clamoring for it to be back, and a new generation just likely won't care it even exists.

Nostalgia works a lot. It'll be interesting, but it doesn't work well without Judith Light on board.

I think Jonathan from that show is the most annoying character in TV and Movie history -- even worse than Jar Jar Binks. So he can not be involved.

So is Judith Light in this as well?

Link says she's "supportive" of the new show but doesn't say if she's actually going to be IN it.

Just plain wow. Revivals used to be something special, now anything that has three living fans is being brought back.

So, not a reboot at all.

Revival=continuation

I think there are slight differences. In certain cases, a show will be revived and just continue in their same situations and living arrangements as if it had never been off the air, and never technically acknowledge it in-universe. That to me feels like Rosanne, and possibly the new Mad About You. Those feel like revivals to me. Then you have new shows that are sequels to their originals like Fuller House, and now the new Who's The Boss, which focus on a different generation of the same family, living in the same house some of them grew up in. And those are a bit different to the spinoffs.

I really try not to think that hard about it. If it's a rare show I'd watch, I just watch it. This was a good show at a time with a lot of other good shows, but not where I'm at now.

Is anybody actually nostalgic for this?

Not me. I didn't like the show when it was originally on, but I haven't seen Danza or Milano in anything for a while, so they probably need some paychecks.
Aside from Frasier, I wish they wouldn't revive these old shows. Just let them be...
