Who'd be the better Traveling Companion?

Well as we see in Deep Space Nine so frequent, characters together in a Runabout for days at a time on Missions or traveling to a distant location.

So who'd be the better Companion out of the DS9 Crew to be stuck in a Runabout with for a few days?

Garak? [Says he's a good traveling companion apparently, I wouldn't mind asking him about his time in the Obsidian Order]

Quark[No really a member of the crew but he's always in a runabout sooner or later] or any other Ferengi like the Grand Nagus and Rom.

Sisko?

Worf?

Kira?

Jake and Nog?

Dax?

Miles O'brien?

Dr. Bashir?

Odo?

If you had another person there with you who'd you rather have there with you as well?

Say you're on a mission with Gul Dukat,having to deal with some Maquis

Or with Weyoun, and one Jem'hadar first on your way to a Dominion Negotiation or the like.....

Or Eddington and Tom Riker?

Or Gowron and Kahless, Imagine being stuck in a Runabout with them for a few days!

Of course you always be stuck with Enabran Tain, now I think THAT'd be entertaining enough the former head of the Obsidian order sitting next to you for a few days in a Runabout.....all the things you can talk about related to the Cardassian's order....



Using those characters it'd be an interesting Mission for sure to be stuck in a runabout for a few days you can imagine all the things you'd discuss about with them.

Garak, definitely! The man is fascinating. It would be best to have both him and Bashir. I can't imagine it would ever get boring. Just in case, lets throw Lita into the mix.

My first choice would be Garak for a travelling companion.
My second choices would be Kira or Dax.
Third choices would be Sisko, O´Brien, Bashir or Odo.
With Quark, Worf, Nog or Jake I would not prefere to be stuck in a Runabout.

If I´d travel with my first choice Garak, I would take also Kira with me or Damar or Bashir.

If I would be on a mission with Dukat I would take Sisko or Kira with me.

On a mission with Weyoun and a Jem´hadar I´d take Odo with me.

On a mission with Eddington and Tom Riker...hmm... Dax I think.

Gowron and Kahless (that would be a nightmare)..I´d take Dax as well.

And if I were in a Runabout with Tain I´d take Sisko with me.

I also wouldn't mind passing the hours playing a game of fizzbin with Quark.

Garak and Tain would be a good combo...listen to them exchanging lies see if you can spot them....

Playing a game like that for several hours, discussing the methodology of the Cardassian Obsidian Order, asking their opinions on the Federation Treaty with the Cardassians oh it'd be FUN time.

Especially if you had Dax and Sisko with you.

I think my first choice would actually be Dax (either Jadzia or Ezri) - they have over 300 years and 9 lifetimes of stories to tell! As much as Garak would be fascinating to travel with (and he would definitely be my second choice), I think I'd have a more enjoyable time listening to stories about Curzon, Audrid, Emony and all the rest.

If I was travelling with Dax, I'd choose Sisko as my second companion. I'm sure together they'd have some fantastic stories to tell!

If I had to go for my second choice, Garak, then of course I'd choose Bashir as my second companion, though I think by the end of the journey my head would be spinning from all the lies!

Yep! That's how it would be...just make sure you bring along a Kotra board and you'll have lots of fun!

I'm curious, what are your reasons for choosing O'Brien as a travelling companion?

O'brien and Jadzia might talk about well....say maybe O'brien's marriage and how's that going along...while Jadzia would have probably infinite advice to give on that for sure.

I'd choose O'Brien as well. Being an engineer myself I'd probably have a ton of stuff to talk to him about, warp core designs, computer software, etc. I think traveling with Garak would drive me nuts. I'd choose the chief any day

Hahaha, well being an engineering is an excellent reason for choosing O'Brien, and (not being an engineer) a reason I hadn't considered. I suppose if any of us were Doctors, we'd probably want to travel with Doctor Bashir and talk about medical advances...

Then again, even if I was to travel with O'Brien, having no interest in engineering, I could always talk to him about his days on the Enterprise-D as well as his adventures on DS9...

That's a good point. We didn't see a whole lot of O'Brien on TNG so it would be interesting to hear his side of the story for a change.
