As for me, I'd like to work for:

- Captain Robau. Need I say more?

- If I *played* baseball, instead of just watching it: Definitely - Casey Stengel. This is the most hilarious guy I have ever heard. Just listening to him talk was legendary. And he was a great manager and player to boot.

Either myself (although I'd probably be more broke than I am now) or whoever's in charge at Lion Brand Yarns in NYC. Getting paid to make up crochet patterns all day sounds like an awesome job, and based on their blogs it seems like they have a lot of fun there.

I'd like a boss who was fair and efficient, and still had reasonable expectations of the staff. Someone who cares about the people but doesn't try to be friends.

Every time I've had a boss who wanted to be liked, to be friends with the staff, it's been a disaster.

I think the really great bosses were the ones I respected because they did the job well, and I felt that I was treated fairly. I think, out of 20 odd years of work, there were about 3 out of the 12-14 bosses/supervisors I've had. At one job, where I worked about 5 years, I had a different boss every year.

In a perfect world, my boss would be Atticus Finch.

Definitely purple. I was a manager for a few years and I was awesome. I know I was awesome because the staff loved me and the lawyers hated me.
