Brilliantly terrible. My second choice for Chekov was Mickey Rooney. But my favorite Scary Casting is still Joan Crawford as Janice Lester. Crawford vs Gable DEATHMATCH!

I nominate Edward G. Robinson as Harry Mudd!

I was thinking of W.C. Fields as Harry Mudd and Oliver Hardy as Cyrano Jones. Mudd always struck me as the more crafty of the two.

Edward G. Robinson would make a great Romulan, tho. For a less obvious choice, how about Matt Decker? Or is that role reserved for William Holden?

Hmm. What I like best about Robinson is the way he can play a sycophant who has a subtle, utter contempt for his boss. No Trek examples immediately spring to mind...
