Poll Who will YOU ship for?

Do we have any early day shippers yet? I have compiled a list of possible crew member combinations in this poll, however the poll had a size limit so I could not fit all possible combinations in to it.

Personally, I am voting for M’Benga and Una.

I think that these two characters have got off to a very good start together and I can see their relationship blossoming and further developing as the series progresses.

They have bonded with each other by sharing secrets that nobody else knows!

Honestly? I'm working off just the clips I've seen on YouTube, but at the moment, it's Sam/Pike for me.

 

When I created the poll, TrekBBS itself also had a suggestion.

 

I voted for Una and La’an. Two hot women usually works for me.

The most interesting would be MBenga and Hemmer but I am not sure I want to see it.

I'm very much ok with no romance on the show for a while. Disco went with the love causes drama thing pretty soon, Picard delt with it in season 2. Some of the people are just getting to know each other, they can wait with possible romances untill season 3 or something. Let's get to know these people first before we see who fits together.

Besides, so many shows always want romance to draw in crowds. I'd love for shows to dare and develop more platonic love between characters. I mean, the deep love between Bashir and O'Brien (if anyone spells it as O'Brian I'm going to scream) was amazing. Real love between two men. As friends.
Let's have more of that. Can you imagine how awesome it would be if a male character on this show could tell one of the female characters how much he loves her, as a friend, and she response in kind and there's actual understanding and love between them without the need have them do the horizontal tango?

M'Benga: Una, you were there so much for while trying to deal and come to terms with the trauma that is part of what is happening with my child. I thank you and love and respect you for it very much:

Dear Lord, non-romantic love between a man and a woman on tv..... I doubt the world is ready for it. But I would prefer that a lot more than another romance drama.

The only romantic interaction I'm interested in right now is more of Spock and T'Pring. I really liked what they did with them in the first episode would be up for more.

Aside from seeing how things progress towards the inevitable outcome for Spock and T'Pring, my vote is for "none of the above." We're still learning about these characters and how they come together as a functional crew. Romantic entanglements muddy the waters unnecessarily at this point.

 

Does shipping mean sex/relationship ?
If so my first choice would be to go full Connaught.
There are many fantasy answers I could give but if I were to tuck my penis away and answer like a mature adult I would have to say I honestly don't see any good relationships from a narrative point of view just yet.

 

‘Shipping’ is the term used to refer to members of the fan base supporting or celebrating two (or more) character’s relationship (or lack thereof) together, usually taking the form of a ‘romance’. Sometimes fan fiction can be involved. If this ‘ship’ involves intimate relations, then that is the private lives of the characters unless it has been depicted on screen in canon. Such ships can also be a ‘bromance’ or even just a plane old friendship, such as the dynamics in friendship between Kirk, Spock and McCoy in the original series. Make of it what you will… but let’s keep it PG-13.

I just want to see this series develop some good relationships amongst it’s characters as we get to know them.

Why is impossible to depict a crew of professionals working together as a team and being friends without the relationship drama? Don't any of them have an SO back home?

 

Indeed. This is the crew of a Federation starship, not the Enterprise High glee club.

 

If we didn't already know how it will turn out between those two, I might agree.

As for shipping in general: I agree with @Jedi Marso. To hell with it.

 

I hope they avoid any kind of romantic relationship development in the series. It would be a nice change.

Otherwise just end each episode with scary full-cast roman orgy with various unstated viscous substances obscuring the camera and the Star Trek theme being played accompanied by rhythm guitar and wah peddle. There.

 

"The Cage" established that Una has a thing for Pike, but I hope SNW doesn't even go there.

 

I'd say they should save the orgy for the return of Harry Mudd. That would be fitting somehow.
