Who smoked?

My dad was a smoker but my mom was progressive and would not let him smoke in the house. So he would go just outside the front door in all weather (it was protected from the rain). He said he liked it because at least he got to breathe in some fresh outside air while he smoked.

Reread that last bit and try not to laugh.

He liked to smoke outside for the fresh air....

Think about that.

Now I know it sounds nuts, but I used to smoke, quit 5 years ago, but I understand how his father felt.
The funny thing is the smoke that comes off the burning end of a cigarette is no good for anybody in any way, it's the stuff the smoker inhales that comes through the cigarette into his/her mouth that gives the buzz.
If you smoke in a closed off space the smoker gets some of his own bad medicine and can actually be uncomfortable..so that's why i also liked smoking outside, even in a Winnipeg winter!
