I wasn't in a rush to get Titanfall before, but now that it's only $10 this week on the Xbox One online store, I'm seriously considering getting it. For those here who play it, what are your thoughts on the game?
I got the Deluxe Edition (i.e. including all the DLC) for XBONE during the EA sale on XBL over the weekend, £10.00 was simply irresistible.
Knowing that you're a big Halo guy (including the competitive multiplayer part of it), you should definitely get something out of it. I don't know how you feel about Call of Duty though? In terms of gameplay, it is closer to that, with the increased level of mobility that is en vogue now. (Compare: CoD AW, Destiny, Halo 5 beta)
Played a couple of hours with a buddy yesterday, it's a tremendously fun game and easy to get into.
Sharp looking game, Rock-solid 1080p/60, and very fun in that Modern Warfare kind of way, it definitely has a lot of its genes and it shows.
As a pilot, that game moves - they really did your on-foot mobility incredibly well. The balancing between pilots and Titans feels nigh-on perfect. Titans feel powerful enough while still being very much susceptible to intelligent opponents. Battles look and feel chaotic in a Battlefield kind of way, without actually being chaotic.
It's a great first impression for a multiplayer experience.
Titanfall is the best. I'm gen 10 on both PC and Xbox One. On Xbox I have all the challenges completed, just trying to get 3 stars for every map and mode, which is coming along nicely.
Hopefully it'll gain in popularity when the inevitable sequel comes.
