The strip club part was bonkers, but I really liked the idea that petty thief Jim Kirk was given the choice of joining the academy or going to prison.

I...a long time ago, I may have started writing a fan-fiction based on a Trek RPG character who joined the academy rather than face jail time...

...though, because if you're going to write fanfic you may as well go big or go home, I was ultimately going to have my character end up making his way to the Guardian of Forever in an attempt to prevent his twin brother from dying during a Klingon attack.
