The Earthside officer's uniform from Star Trek and Star Trek Into Darkness. Smart af.

First Contact/Later DS9 uniforms are cooler, but I feel like the earlier ones better reflect the idea behind Starfleet. The grey ones are awesome, but they seem too military.

A thread on The Next Generation forum regarding a poll over TNG uniforms has made me ponder which starfleet uniforms looked best. I think the best thing about the new movies is the costumes and the best looking and most dignified uniform has to be the uniform worn by Admiral Marcus in Into Darkness.

It's a homage to Robert Fletcher's design from TMP but it looks less removed from contemporary fashion. It's simple and sleek and dignified. If I had to pick a star trek costume to wear in public, I'd choose this one.

So which Star Trek uniforms do you think are the best looking and most dignified?

The TNG movie dress uniforms. There is much white involved. But I guess the Starfleet people disagree. Everyone keeps on complaining how uncomfortable they are....

I've come to appreciate the Early DS9/Voyager uniforms much more. Primarily, they put more color on the faces of the actors, making them look more alive than the black shoulders on the TNG uniforms or the grey shoulders on the First Contact/late DS9 uniforms. They also don't look as heavy as the TOS movie uniforms.

Close second: Beyond.

The Cage/WNMHGB unis, because they're the only times women wore pants before TMP, in a television age when that was actually novel.

Second place is TWoK unis, cause they look military and not like colorful pajamas.

They have the benefit of being that they actually do wear in space today.
Comfortable pants, short sleeve shirts and sometimes sweaters?

Enterprise uniforms look like something fit to wear if you work in space and are not that gender specific
Problem I have with ENT's clothing is that it doesn't appear to be comfortable to wear for extended periods or all that easy to move in. T'Pol's various outfits at least looked stretchy and comfortable.

TOS uniforms looked comfortable and practical.

When I see early TNG's uniforms, in the back of my mind I know that they were hideously uncomfortable and sent Patrick Stewart to a chiropractor.
