Are we talking about the INS Picard who was willing to let millions suffer rather than either a) relocate 600 people or b) let the Son'a and Baku resolve their differences as an internal matter?

You think a guy who tricks a foreign government into joining a war by lying and planting false evidence should be running a country?

Ultimately a President needs to look to the welfare of the country they're elected to protect first. Plus, Sisko trick an enemy power into blunting some of the attackers violence, it not like he did so with a long time close ally.

Is the fact that Janeway is a woman that so many feel the need to comment on how ruthless she can be?

Because she's a female? Hardly.

Kirk was no-where near as ruthless as Janeway (only Sisko comes close), Picard the least of all.

And maybe to be a good leader, a President needs to have at least a little ruthlessness, we're not electing a Sunday school teacher.

Well, okay. I'll concede that Sisko is still a little better than liars/criminals like Cheney, Rumsfeld and Powell.

Doesn't change the fact that my vote would go to Picard.
