I'm looking forward to seeing Galaxy 4, because it's something I've never really seen, heard or read about before, other than the basic synopsis for the whole serial. With the lack of telesnaps, surviving clips (save for the six minute chunk from ep1) it'll be like seeing a new classic episode for the first time.

The Underwater Menace 3 just seemed like a silly pantomine, and the clip released for ep2 seemed just as naff, so not fussed about it. Fandom seems to be steering towards this episode more than Galaxy 4 ep3 however, probably due to being the first Troughton found in 20 years.

Neither. 25 minutes each of black-and-white 1960s TV. No pressing interest. It's not like we're talking about the complete set of An Unearthly Child or The Daleks.

I went with both, though Menace has a slight edge. Its always a pleasure to see Troughton's Doctor in action.

I chose Galaxy 4, mainly because I have a sweet spot for Vicki and have always preferred Hartnell over Troughton. Also, I recall liking the novelisation (at least) of Galaxy 4, so that gives it an additional edge over Underwater Menace, which has never turned my crank.

That said, still great to have both of them back in the archive.

Definitely "Underwater Menace." There's simply not enough Troughton out there. Loved Hartnell's last year as the Doctor but #2 will always be MY Doctor.
