Re: Which previous films have you seen with the principal cast members

I saw Chris Pine in Smokin' Aces. That film is bonkers. Totally.

And don't forget Karl Urban in that other film trilogy that was out recently. I forget the name of it, something about a ring...

Re: Which previous films have you seen with the principal cast members

Leonard Nimoy: The Star Trek movies. 1978's Invasion of the Body Snatchers.
Kegek's thoughts: It's Leonard Nimoy. The man is Spock. Case closed.

Eric Bana: Troy, Hulk, Munich.
Kegek's thoughts: Bana is good as the brooding, thoughtful heroes he essentially plays here - and yes, I'm including Troy in that estimation. I wonder if he is going to be an out-and-out villain here, or a more honourable figure like Hector.

Zoe Saldana: The Terminal.
Kegek's thoughts: Small part, played well. In retrospect, very amusing that she has a relationship with a Trekkie. Look out for her Vulcan salute.

Karl Urban: The Lord of the Rings movies.
Kegek's thoughts: Not exactly kind of guy who just leaps to mind when you think McCoy; and here he's a burly warrior horseman of Rohan. But I've become more convinced over time Urban might have an interesting take on his character.

Winona Ryder: Edward Scissorhands. A Scanner Darkly.
Kegek's thoughts: Actually, fairly low-key in both films. While Depp is the standout in the first, Downey Jr. is the standout in the second. I don't think she'll dominate any of the scenes she's in but then I don't think she needs to.

Bruce Greenwood: Thirteen Days.
Kegek's thoughts: Been a long time, but I felt Greenwood was a pretty effective Kennedy when I saw this picture. He's convincing as a man in a position of power who makes tough decisions and has to grapple with them... good call for Chris Pike.

Eric Bana - Troy, Hulk. I thought he was good in Troy (one of the high points, actually). Hulk was boring and stupid.

Karl Urban - LOTR films. I liked him in those.

Winona Ryder - tons of films, but I thought her best was Reality Bites. Ethan Hawke owned that film, but Winona was great too. Loved Edward Sissorhands too...but that was even more clearly Johnny Depp's picture.

Leonard Nimoy - all the usual Trek suspects.

Zachary Quinto - Heroes. He rocks.

Re: Which previous films have you seen with the principal cast members

Including TV and excluding Nimoy, who I believe can handle the role... ;)

Zachary Quinto
- I noticed how perfect he was for Spock before he even got the role on Heroes. It was good to see him in that role, because I didn't get the best impression of his acting skills from his small role on 24. Granted, what can you do with a part that consists basically of squabbling with Chloe and having your sister be murdered by terrorists? His Heroes role is very different from Spock but proves he can steal scenes and play the oddball outsider. The effort that he consistently makes to add nuance to the role of Sylar and elevate him above the level that the script provides is the chief reason for Sylar's popularity (the character really isn't all that well written or well conceived). Can't wait to see what he can do with some decent writing. Very promising.

Zoe Saldana - Noticed her in a very minor role in the original Pirates of the Caribbean. The fact that I remember her in that role is a good sign that she has screen presence.

Karl Urban - Didn't stand out in the LOTR films, but the role isn't really the kind that does.

Eric Bana - Saw him in Munich. Good movie, but I can't say he impressed me one way or the other. He's probably just good for one film anyway. Oh right, and Troy. Wow I forgot he was in it. Not a good sign. :rommie:

Ben Cross - Chariots of Fire and that Dark Shadows revival. Yeah, he seems right for the role.

Winona Ryder - Lots of stuff, but nothing that left a lasting impression.

Bruce Greenwood - One of those where-have-I-seen-him-before character actors. Again, no lasting impression.

Interesting. I could remember her role in The Terminal offhand but had no idea she was in the original Pirates of the Carribbean, so I can only deduce the former made a more significant impact on me.

Am I the only person who remembers Urban was on "Xena"? He played Cupid and more memorably Julius Ceasar.
