Which past season of House M.D. could have served as its final season?

I'm worried that the show is going to become one of those over-extended shows with storylines that lack credibility they used to have and characters who lack the substance that used to make them interesting. So, just out of curiosity, if you could cancel House before that happens, which past season you would cancel it after to give the show some sort of ending.

Well I know a lot of people are looking forward to the payoff of the House/Cuddy thing, but frankly the finale to last season would have worked for me. I'll still watch obviously, because I really like the show, but had it been cancelled, I wouldn't have been heartbroken.
