Which "new" TOS do you prefer ?

Do you prefer the new JJ Abrams TOS or the new on line Star Trek New Voyages / AKA Star Trek Continues ?

JJ Abrams has the budget, he makes great explosions and very expensive chase scenes and then throws in a conversation about duty and Starfleet values. He doesn't get the magic of TOS.

The online series are made by people who do it for free out of a love of TOS. The costumes, sets and writing are top notch. True these are amateur actors and some of the cast does not look like they could pass a Starfleet physical but their love and understanding of TOS comes through in every scene. And having guest appearances by Walter Koening, George Takei, Barbara Luna, William Windom and others is nothing to sneeze at either !

Give me the new online epsodes over the multi million dollar JJ Abrams pics any time.

Not at all, this is not about the production of the fan based espisodes it is about comparing TOS versions, movies vs internet.

It is for TOS fans to say which they prefer.

Actually, IMHO it belongs either in the fan productions forum or the Abrams movies forum, as the topic doesn't have anything to do with TOS, since you're comparing the Abrams movies to fan productions.

So to answer your question: Do I prefer the Abrams films over fan productions? I've seen them both, and it's no contest: The films.

I'll take JJs over the fan stuff. They're nice homages to the styles and production values of the sixties, but beyond nostalgia there's not much there.
