Hi everyone!

as many of you know, many studios out there, dazzled by the billions of dollars earned by the MCU, are desperately looking for a new superhero universe which becomes the new moneymaker (for example, the new upcoming Valiant Comics Cinematic Universe).

Now, if the DCE has taught us anything, the original IP is not a guarantee of success, because first and foremost one needs, you know, to make good movies. But I think it would be fun to know everyone's opinion about which SuperHero Universe we'd like to see on the Big Screen.

Now, I chose the ones I consider the best known, but if anyone has others to suggest, please be my guest!
I leave here some link to description of the various superhero universes...
(I left the Ultraverse out because technically is part of the Marvel Universe...)

Dark Horse SuperHero Universe
Astro City
Project Superpowers
Invincible Comics Universe
Image Universe (this one is a little tricky, because it's never very clear which characters are in this universe...)
Archie's Dark Circle (but there are rumors that they are working on it)
Kirbyverse
Terra Obscura
Heroic Publishing Superhero Universe

I would say Image, but what I would really like to see is Invincible. Spawn is already coming back to theatres, is it not?

The Invincible universe is separated from the "main" Image universe (Spawn, The Savage Dragon, Witchblade, Youngblood etc). Yes, I know Spawn is coming back, but I haven't hear any serious talks about other characters. There is the matter that the Image's characters are creator-owned, so perhaps acquiring the rights for the movies is different from other Publishing houses.

I'll confess, I haven't read any of them yet, but Astro City sounds really cool. From what I've read about it, it sounds like it could have a ton of potential as a cinematic universe.

Haven't read most of these. Image would be a mess considering all the different copyright holders, and Astro City is supposed to be an anthology series, and that's already in development as a TV show. Terra Obscura might work, but I'm afraid it might turn Alan Moore into a suicide bomber.

And, honestly, I'm a little exhausted with the shared universes. The MCU is doing it well, all others have failed or stay small enough that nobody notices. Like, how many people who went to see Godzilla this summer, as few as they may have been, ever heard of Legendary's MonsterVerse? And, personally, I'm pretty much done with the MCU, as well. No judgement of quality, I just notice that I don't care anymore. Just give me good movies, I don't care if and how they connect.

Except the ArrowVerse. Keep that shit connected.

Savage Dragon has made at least one cameo in Invincible but I get what you mean. That said, shared universe aside, Image does have a significant number of marketable properties that have not received the treatment they deserve.

At the beginning the the series other Image characters did an appearance, but then they made clear that Invincible was its own thing. This is a good definition of the Image Universe's "Soft Continuity":
It is worth noting that the continuity of Image superhero books are a lot looser, particularly due to the fact that all of Image's comics are creator-owned. In fact, it is not uncommon for superheroes from other continuities are brought in and treated as a regular part of the universe (such as Dark Horse's Hellboy or Mike Allred's Madman), as opposed to Marvel or DC Comics, where it is usually either out of regular continuity and/or involves dimensional travel. It is also common for some characters to move in and out of continuity. For example, characters from the Wildstorm imprint was originally part of the Image Universe, before moving into it's own continuity (called the Wildstorm Universe) and most recently joining the DC Universe. It has also been stated by Image Comics co-founder Erik Larsen that each book takes place in it's own universe but in some crossover stories, it means the events therein take place simultaneously in both continuities.

Though the nature of events within the books themselves remain consistent, events that happen in some books would not necessarily effect the others.

I'd like for the next cinematic universe to take a page from the Conjuring-verse (and MonsterVerse, to be fair), and not be about superheroes. One shared, interlocking cinematic universe per genre is quite enough, IMO.

Specifically, I'd like to see an adventure-based shared universe set in the 1930s. Ideally, Rick and Evy from The Mummy '99 would have fit into this, before Fraser and Weisz aged out of their roles in that decade, but I could picture a "Phase One" of various pulp-style adventure flicks, each taking place in a different country/culture, culminating in a team-up flick to infiltrate an occult Nazi fortress - an Avengers 1/Where Eagles Dare mashup, if you will. But, hey, that's just moi, I guess. :p
