Which mythical Greek god would you most want to have as your father ?

Which mythical Greek god below would you humorously or seriously most want to have as your Father if you had to pick one and please say why - Zeus (God of Sky and Thunder), Poseidon (God of Water), or Hades (God of the Underworld & Wealth).

Re: Which mythical Greek god would you most want to have as your fathe

Interesting question. :) I guess I'd go with Zeus, for the sake of bodily protection (I'd really rather not get run over by a drunk driver tomorrow). 'Course, it'd also be nice to have Aphrodite as a mother, and clean up with the babes...

Momos -- the god of writers and poets, satire, mockery, censure, evil-spirited blame, and unfair criticism.

He would help me fit in around here. :shifty:

Were there any of 'em who weren't murdering rapists though? Even Hephaestus tried it.

I think I'd rather shop around for a different pantheon, tbh.

There's a sensible approach. How bought them Norse?

What do you mean, "want?"

You mean I had a choice in the matter?

Given those three, Pluto, of course. I want to be filthy rich, and hey, the Underworld might be a little grim but provided we get can an internet connection down in Erebus (don't ask how MONEY IS THE ANSWER) I'll be content.

Not really helping matters there.

Eros didn't really get a lot of tail, y'know (even as he helped everyone else in that department). His one love, Psyche, was tortured by his mom because her beauty rivaled that of Aphrodite's. Aeneas, her half-human son, did hit it with Dido, mighty Queen of Carthage, though.

Why are we restricted to Zeus, Poseidon and Hades for parents? At Camp Half-Blood it's Hermes who's really the prolific dad, and even Athena had kids.

As for other pantheons - you could have some real fun crossing things up. Say, Ceridwen (Celtic Great Goddess who possesed the cauldron of Poetic Inspiration) for a mom and, Raven, the Pacific Northwestern trickster god for a dad. Or Quan Yin (Chinese Goddess of Mercy) for a mom and Mars (Roman God of War) for a dad.

Dionyses. My wine yen would be much more than a hobby.

Why is this list missing Apollo, Ares, Hephaestus, and Hermes?

Why limit yourself to that? I'm sure Priapus would make an interesting parent.

What?

Re: Which mythical Greek god would you most want to have as your fathe

Is this inspired by the Percy Jackson books? (I never read the books, and the movie looks a bit like a HP ripoff, but there are some good names in it so maybe I will check it out).

As for me, I would say Hephaestus. He was a nerd, wasn't he? Plus, the Vulcan thing...

Yeah, but that was lame. :p

Re: Which mythical Greek god would you most want to have as your fathe

I'll go with none. The likelihood of turning out to be a weird creature, or a more powerful god wanting to kill me for some reason or another kind of ruins the fun.
