Which movie/TV show/book is the most often quoted in your family?

Miss Chicken

Little three legged cat with attitude
Admiral
For my family it is most certainly Monty Python and the Holy Grail though in the last couple of years a few Game of Thrones quotes are creeping in.

When we have to do repairs around the house and are looking for the right tool, we often find ourselves quoting Guy from Galaxy Quest:

"Look around you, can you form some sort of rudimentary lathe?"

Or when someone promises something and it doesn't work out, or does something deceptive (especially around Christmas) we'll jokingly tease them with this line about the fake mall Santa from Elf:

"You sit on a throne of lies!"

A big one is The Princess Bride and:

"You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."

We use this quote from Old School a lot to congratulate someone on a good job:

"You're my boy, Blue!"

And of course Hudson's big line (one of many) from Aliens when you're beaten while playing a video game or a game on TV is done (or one side has obviously won):

"Game over, man! Game over!"

We frequently quote Ghostbusters, The Big Lebowski, Caddyshack, Austin Powers, Wayne's World, the Star Wars films, the Star Trek films, Godfather, Scarface, Anchorman, The Other Guys, Office Space, Die Hard, Airplane, and Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

The IT Crowd.

"You've broken the internet!"
"Hello! Are you from the past?!"
"You're making it go back in!"
"Have you tried turning it off and on again?"
"I'm disabled!"
"0118999 88199 9119 725... 3"

Someone being dickish and not doing what you want?

"You will comply."

Random argument.. yell "YOU NEVER LOVED HER!" Right in the middle of it. Or for no reason at all, lull in conversation, debate over where to eat.. works great!

Too many to list. Probably The Simpsons, just so many quotes and references have wormed their way into my normal every day speech.

Now that it's just my cat and me, I guess the commonest quote would probably be "Meow!" from the many cute-cat videos on YouTube (or TV channel, if one exists in your area).

Some years ago, I had to laugh when my dad wanted something to stop annoying him and he exclaimed, "Eliminate, eliminate, eliminate!"

I realized that he was trying to quote Doctor Who and really meant "Exterminate, exterminate, exterminate!"

Mean Girls

"FOUR for you, Glen Coco! You go Glen Coco!... And none for Gretchen Wieners."

It means someone is awesome. Obviously I switch out Glen Coco's name for the person I'm referring to but I always keep the Gretchen line because it's funny.

Here's the actual clip.

Not a ton of quoting around the house, but when we do, it's usually from Scott Pilgrim..

"BREAD MAKES YOU FAT??"

Movies: Repo Man, The Blues Brothers, American Graffiti, This is Spinal Tap. TV: Seinfeld, The Simpsons, Fawlty Towers.
