You know, there was another Star Trek, but its name eludes me at this time. :p

I didn't know JJ Abrahms had an account here!

I couldn't resist..

But yeah, another supporter for DS9. I think it's got more range and better storytelling and characters, despite taking a yea or two to get comfortable with itself.

With VHS being dead technology, I'm in the process of re-buying the series on DVD.

Well, although this thread was started simply to advertise, I'm using my magic mod powers and *poof* it's now a legit topic

DS9 by far is the greatest. Greater then all the rest of the series combined.

Then goes:

Enterprise
The Next Generation
Voyager
TOS

#1) TOS - likable and endearing characters, variety of different types of episodes and situations, as well as high rewatchability value.

#2) DS9 - greatest in terms of overall quality and production values, but as a viewer has no rewatch value for me.

#3) TNG - appealing characters, but has dated PC elements, and has no rewatch value for me.

#4) VOY - a premise that was poorly executed with poor writing and mostly uninspiring characters. Definitely has no rewatch value for me.

#5) ENT - really should have called it something else besides "Star Trek." Besides the character of Phlox, I could not relate to any of them. Plus, I myself could not buy the fact that this was an actual prequel to TOS when it served more as a prequel to TNG.

Enterprise is vastly underrated. Change the theme toon to the theme from 'In A Mirror, Darkly' (1 and 2) and the series might have been liked more

Love it...

Voyager: Standed StarShip 75,000 LY's from the Federation, lost in totally unknown space, never knowning what around the next nebula. Well casted, love the Intrepid Class Star-Ship design...

DS-9: Fell in love with this series in it's original run. Totally cool concept, Cardissian Space Station that for some reason they did not self destruct.
A true melting pot of the Federation. A planet that was just coming out of almost 50 years of occupation, a worm hole leading to a very remote part of the GQ. This series had it all, humor, tragidy, spirtiual, greed, they really had it all. The first Trek that did not have to go to the stars, but it did not matter...

TNG: The one that brought Trek back to TV after almost 25 years. Loved the Enterpise, Pickard, Riker, Data, Worf, Geordi, Dr's Chrusher and Pelouski, Deanna and yes even Westley (the butt of many a good joke)
Introuduced us to Holodecks, Replicators, 10 Forward. How could you not love it...

TOS: As Gene Roddenberry put it "Wagon Train to the Stars" Kirk, Spock, McCoy, Scotty, Chekov, Uhurha, Sulu, Rand. For a kid just growing up in the mid to late 60's I could not wait until the next episode to see what new adventures lay in store for our heros. It brought space and space travel much closer, seeing the moon landing just a couple of years later sealed the deal, we were going to the stars. Star Trek and Apollo 11... could it get any better

Sorry to say that I never watch much of Enterprise, so I cannot comment on this series, I do plan on getting the DVD's soon...

In a way, this was a unfair question, for all the series did mean something different to me in they all came around at different times in my life. Not so much the latter DS-9, and Voyager, but TOS and TNG. They are all so different, yet, they are in some ways very simular. We can go back and forth about which series was the best. I prefer to say that Star Trek Rules !!!!!!!

Voyager's seasons 1,2 and 3 are my absolute favorites. However, I don't like Voyager's seasons 4-7.

TNG was a great series overall.

TOS and DS9 were great too.

I didn't care much for ENT.

Enterprise is vastly underrated. Change the theme toon to the theme from 'In A Mirror, Darkly' (1 and 2) and the series might have been liked more
That is an overgeneralization.

Scott Bakula was not enough of a draw for me to tune into the show (I give props for his character having a cute beagle, though! :bolian: ), and I found Jolene Blalock, Linda Park, and Anthony Montgomery to be lacking and strict acting amateurs. Connor Trinneer and Dominic Keating were okay, but they didn't exactly stand out for me as "star material." Only John Billingsley as Dr. Phlox seemed to feel like a Star Trek character to me, but that wasn't good enough for me to tune in for long.

I found nothing new under the sun with ENT that I found to be better in other shows and films. The nail in the coffin for me for that show was the episode where the crew of the NX-01 provided holodeck technology to Klingons 200 years before we actually saw Will Riker be fascinated by the "new technology" in "Encounter at Farpoint."

After 7 years of VOY "inconsistencies," I tuned out after only the 4th broadcast episode of ENT, because "enough was enough" when it came to the production of sub-par Trek.
