Which Book is This?

Starfish

Cadet
Newbie
I'm looking for a book I read about 7 years ago that's been bugging me ever since. I really want to read it again because I remember liking it but nearly nothing else. Thanks to the Internet, I can finally appeal to some experts.
Which Trek novel contains a sequence where someone is on the run and calls a doctor from a telephone booth, saying "Yes. Place the call"?
My guess is that's a flashback sequence on Earth from a New Generation novel. I know it's not much to go on, but hope springs eternal!

I'm sure people here could probably name the book if you just said "the last word on page 47 was 'of'". In fact, the reply would include a sentence like "however, this is only true for the second reprint; in all other prints a different hyphenation algorithm caused the words to shift by a couple of pages" :). At least that's been my experience ... sadly I'm not one of them however.

Traitor Winds looks like a winner. Thank you! Should have known better than to guess. Unfortunately my local library doesn't have it, so stronger methods will be taken...

Traitor Winds...and the character I believe who says that particular line is Chekov. Traitor Winds is my favourite Lost Years Era novel out of the three we got. Also among the first Trek books I ever bought.
