So I consider myself a pretty big Katherine Heigl fan, considering I've seen exactly none of her TV work and only one and a half of her movies. (The "half" being Knocked Up, which I abandoned in disgust, and I was pleased to hear her slamming it, also.)
That said, while I am a bit curious to see One for the Money, in spite of the lukewarm reviews, it is undeniable true that, following her terrific performance in the ridiculously entertaining 27 Dresses (I don't mind a well-done total froth of a rom-com from time to time, especially if it stars Cyclops and features Elton John karaoke), she's been in one horror after another: Killers, Life as We Know It, The Ugly Truth, New Year's Eve, and that stupid hospital show that's kept Kevin McKidd away from his big-screen destiny. What's worse is that, after so rightly castigating Apatow for his pre-Bridesmaids treatment of women, she went on to voluntarily choose even more such dreck.
And now we have the upcoming suck-hurricane of The Big Wedding, in which she plays a supporting role in De Niro's latest entry in his ongoing embarassment-off with Pacino. (Who seems to be taking some time off from that, but evidently hasn't told him.) Anyway, check out the trailer linked above if you dare, or just read the AV Club's Sean O'Neal's dissection of the same - it's pretty dire.
In sum: Kat, girl, you need to get yourself in some good movies, before it's too late!
(Failing that, KaHei, there's always the mostly-improvised rom-com Kate and Gaith - I'll write the script, you pick the director!)
