I'd very much hope that Beverly is alive but I guess I'm only saying that as she's one of my favourite characters of all Star Trek. Given the number of returning characters though, I'm not sure if she'd appear. Who knows? Maybe next season?!

 

If things didn't work out with Picard and Beverly, perhaps they could bring back Philippa Louvois.

No, I can't see an aged Chakotay with the Fenris Rangers, even though the actor is, of course, compelling... ok, just kidding with the acting part. I think I'd rather see any other TNG/ VOY/ DS9 character back, with the possible exception of. Wesley.

 

would rather see Janeway and Chakotay together. Never liked the seven chakotay romance.

Nothing against Robert Beltran - a Maquis Chuckles meeting Rios and Raffi would be interesting. Add Narek to the mix, and the fun would commence. Seven and Chakotay dating? Never bought it. Sevens romance it the novelverse is far more compelling - with a guy with rough edges.

 

According to this article the hand holding scene between Raffi and Seven was not in the script and was ad-libbed by the actors.
