Where can Star Trek ebooks be purchased?

It seems that many ebook sellers that used to sell Star Trek ebooks no longer do so. Many like mobipocket.com and ebooks.com still show the books and have them available for search but they are typically grayed out and there are no purchase options. Outside of the Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Borders, Sony, itunes and Simon & Schuster web sites, I'm only aware of Books on Board selling Trek. Are there any other "independent" sources not affiliated with any certain reader that still Star Trek ebooks?

Diesel Ebooks still sell the books in many formats, plus they do not restrict sales to just North America.

The problem with Diesel eBooks is a lot of the older Trek eBooks do not come in ePub. The problem with Google eBooks is that you don't know if you'll be getting a downloadable ePub or you have to read online.

That said, you can purchase Star Trek eBooks from Sony, Borders, Kobo... to name a few that sell in ePub.

However, to purchase from Sony, you will have to download and install Reader Library. But, what you do get is the same ePub as you would from Borders or Kobo.

It's funny, really, since I have a Kindle. I just received it, absolutely love it, and wouldn't consider changing to any other reader unless I absolutely had to, but I'm just about ready to give up on buying ebooks from Amazon. I can't think of a single ebook that I've purchased that didn't have some sort of problem that I needed to edit to repair or make it acceptable to me. I wind up using Calibre to convert to epub, edit it in Sigil, get it the way I want it and use Calibre to convert it back to mobi. I know this is the publisher's fault rather than Amazon's but it doesn't change the fact that I feel the need to do it.

I've purchased a few from Books on Board and been fairly pleased. I think I'm going to start making most of my purchases from them or directly from Simon & Schuster. I just wanted other options to check for better pricing. I know it's extremely rare to find any particular Trek book selling at for a better price at any particular seller but it does happen on rare occasion, whether it's supposed to or not.

Have any of you ever noticed any major differences in the epubs that come from the various sellers or are they typically more or less identical?

Sometimes the ePub is better then the AZW. Sometimes exactly the same as far as any errors. my guess is that the conversion process may have bugs. But that's just a guess.

Anyway, if you had say a Sony Reader PRS-650, you'd have the same Pearl screen that the K3 has, you'd have original ePub which are easier to fix and you'd be happier.

Makes no difference at this point. I have what I have and won't be changing. I love my Kindle and from what I've seen, I feel it's the best reader out there. It's the publishers and their ebook formatting skills that I have issues with.

I'm not saying I wouldn't consider some other reader when this one needs replacing several years from now but, until then, it really makes no difference. I tend to take extremely good care of my electronic toys and could easily see this one lasting me quite a few years. By the time I'm in the market for a new one, Sony and Amazon both may be out of the ereader business.
