When did your favourite TV show "Jump The Gorge"?

DS9- Duet. That was the first episode that totally grabbed me. Then the intro of the Jem Hadar at the end of the second season.

TNG- Best of Both Worlds, part 1. I was only a casual TNG viewer until the final scene of that episode- "Mr. Worf- fire!"

DS9- Duet. That was the first episode that totally grabbed me. Then the intro of the Jem Hadar at the end of the second season.

Even though Trek was don't miss from the 70s untill the last Next Generation last movies so Duet technically doesn't qualify for me I would say they snatched victory out of a defeated first season with the episodes of Duet through the Circle Trilogy which opened season 2.

I, like many people, originally saw Farscape as just Buck Rogers with muppets. That all changed with the episode where Rygel eats the berries that make his urine explode. The scene with him pissing fire off a bridge to keep a mob at bay was the moment I realized that this was worth watching.

TNG - "The Measure of a Man" - I was a fan of TNG from the start, but this was the first real bona fide success and from there, I just *had* to see every episode I possibly could.

BSG - "33" - As others have mentioned, this episode sold the series in a big, big way. Whether or not you like where the series ultimately ended up (I didn't like it), there's no denying the near-perfection that this episode represents.

Beast Wars
- "The Trigger, Pts. 1 & 2" - This was a fabulously constructed, action-packed, mature-themed episode which hinted at some truly exemplary developments for this series.

The Wire - "The Buys" - The third episode into the series and, when it ended, I was completed taken aback. I had no idea that nearly an hour had gone by. I was so thoroughly engrossed in character, plot, theme, social commentary that ending the episode felt like cutting off the oxygen from the room.

Lost - "The Moth" - The incredible symbolism displayed in the episode about Charlie facing his heroine addiction was phenomenal. From there, I knew that the show, and the writers, knew what they were doing.

ST:TNG - I watched the TOS mainly and only watched Next Gen because it came on afterward, but then I saw the episode "Remember Me" with the whole "there must be something wrong with the universe" and I started watching Next Gen for its own sake. (I have no actual memory of the TNG episodes that I saw before "Remember Me", they just weren't memorable at the time. Even rewatching BOBW 1&2, "Family" and "Brothers" doesn't rekindle any memories of seeing them before "Remember Me".)

For DS9: I remember liking the Circle trilogy and all that implied in terms of continuing storylines and reoccurring characters, but the destruction of the Odyssey was the real turning point.

nuBSG: The mini-series. Though I fell out of love with the show sometime after Starbuck returned ("jump the shark"?), I was hooked initially by the miniseries. It was pretty much perfect.

For most of the other shows I like: House, Lost, X-Files, Futurama, Dexter, etc. I can't really think of a defining moment. House and Lost I didn't like at first, after a second watch I enjoyed them, but I can't think of a defining moment that made it. X-Files, Dexter, and Futurama I liked from the get-go.

DS9: when they fragged the Odyssey.
+1

I always liked DS9, but that was the moment that the series really got it's own voice and legs and became something different for 'Trek

-- Battlestar Galactica "33" Humanity is on the brink of extinction, every life counts, and they are forced to frag a whole shipload of humans just cause it might be a threat to the rest of the fleet.

The X-Files: From the episode "Ice"--when Scully pulled down Mulder's shirt to check his neck for the worm, it became must watch TV Friday nights! :techman:

^^
ST:TNG: I, too, made it a point to watch after I saw "Remember Me" (I missed the first run of BOBW, and caught repeats of it much later) and I think it's why Dr. Crusher has always been one of my favorite characters.

Fraiser: Ever since I saw the episode from the 4th season, "Ham Radio" I was hooked.

Law and Order: Used to watch episodes sporadically from the Jerry Orbach/Angie Harmon years. I have only become a recent fan with the first episode of the 18th season "Called Home"--the current trifecta of prosecutors (Sam Waterston, Linus Roache, and Alana De La Garza) came into being with that episode. Haven't missed any first run eps since! :)

I've loved Madmen, Dexter, and The Office from the beginning...
