What's your personal headcanon for your favourite TV series, movies etc?

I'm going to start with one of my favourite movies which is The Rock as it's on TV right now at the side of the room.

This is an unofficial James Bond movie .. Bond was tasked with stealing a microfilm from the USA but got caught arrested and disavowed by the UK government. Also that microfilm has some of the US biggest secrets on it like who really shot JFK, the alien landing at Roswell both mentioned in the movie.

A similar, and similarly oft-repeated one...Enemy of the State is a sequel to The Conversation.

It tickles me to have two such vastly different films be tied together. You have to ignore or tweak a few details for it to fit, but plenty of official sequels do that too. :)

I've never heard that idea about those two movies

I just remembered another one. I'm often against the kind of "combined universe" stuff where people use just an easter egg or background nod to tie things together (like Blade Runner and Alien) ...but I do like to pretend certain "wacky genre" films to be in a loose shared universe with Buckaroo Banzai: Across the Eighth Dimension. They don't have to be consistent in details, just moderately consistent in tone. (Stuff like Big Trouble in Little China, Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins, Repo Man, The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, etc.)

Oh, and also a super obvious and easy one...the John Hughes-directed movies co-exist. :)

A popular theory was that Blade Runner and Soldier take place in the same universe. Can't recall the specifics of that one. I think it's to do with locations mentioned in both films or such

Soldier has an on-screen mention of Tannhauser Gate, and there's also a Spinner in the junk pile.

Of course, there's also wreckage from the ship 'Lewis and Clark' from Event Horizon, so I dunno how much you can assume from that. Soldier is full of little references to other movies, like Aliens, Escape From New York, Star Trek II, Captain Ron...there's even a Marvin the Martian reference.

The writer of Soldier also (co)wrote Blade Runner, and has referred to Soldier as a "side-quel" so there's at least some vague authorial intent there beside easter eggs.

Thank you @Tosk

I didn't know that about the Lewis And Clark .... I'll have to look more closely to find some of these. I couldn't find the spinner the last time I watched this.

BTW Blade Runner flying cars, why are they called spinners, anyone know? Wasn't the city in BR supposed to be 2019?

I thought the theory was that he was picked up after Dr. No.

Twin Peaks ended with the ninth episode of the second season.
