What's the Board's Opine of The Ascent?

This isn't a popular episode? I thought it was at least considered above average by most fans.

I love it. While not one of my all-time favorites, it's easily in DS9's top quarter of episodes.

And yes, the Odo/Quark scenes are pure gold.

Loved it, the scene between Quark and Odo in the runabout were hilarious. The DS9 writers had a much better grasp of comedy than we ever got on the other series.

I love The Ascent.

Even more episodes like it would have been great. Shimerman is right when he says that only a little Quark/Odo screen-time is actually in the show, but it is well-remembered anyway due to the great work that he and Auberjonois did together.

I really like that episode. It has great acting by Auberjonois and Shimerman, some excellent location work and a "B" story with Jake and Nog that is fun but never gets in the way of the "A" story. Well done to the DS9 writers.

Its a fantastic episode, and I think that by the comments in this thread thus far we can say it is quite a popular episode.:)

This was always one of my least favorite episodes. Why?? It is hard for me to describe....

Where are we going? v

And why are we in this handbasket? ;)

I liked the homages to the original series in this - the fact that fizzbin from "A Piece of the Action" is now a real game and (IIRC) the first mention of the Orion Syndicate.

I remember liking this episode very much. Quark and Odo were always a winning pair so stranding them together is quite a natural idea for the show.

Think it's time for a re-watch! :techman:
