Not a popular episode, but the give and take between Odo and Quark are gold

This isn't a popular episode? I thought it was at least considered above average by most fans.

I love it. While not one of my all-time favorites, it's easily in DS9's top quarter of episodes.

And yes, the Odo/Quark scenes are pure gold.

Even more episodes like it would have been great. Shimerman is right when he says that only a little Quark/Odo screen-time is actually in the show, but it is well-remembered anyway due to the great work that he and Auberjonois did together.

Yup. I remember quite liking their pairing in The Ascent, and I just watched the Circle Trilogy last night, and they were great working together in it.

I really like that episode. It has great acting by Auberjonois and Shimerman, some excellent location work and a "B" story with Jake and Nog that is fun but never gets in the way of the "A" story. Well done to the DS9 writers.

I liked the homages to the original series in this - the fact that fizzbin from "A Piece of the Action" is now a real game and (IIRC) the first mention of the Orion Syndicate.
