What's that round thing, anyway?

Can anyone find a good picture of whatever the hell that round thing is on the exterior right door of the new TARDIS?

Even in HD, I can't get a good look at it, and Google was no help.

Anyone?

The St. John Ambulance logo? That was on Hartnell's TARDIS.

Here's a good picture of it.

You can see it on the door in this frame from "An Unearthly Child."

I don't recall off-hand when it came off, but it was gone by "The Sensorites."

I've been a Doctor Who fan for a long long time, and I'd never realized how far, far from the Police Box norm Tom Baker's TARDIS was until I read that article. There's always something new to learn.
