What your favorite Trek movie trailer?

Really the only TREK film with a disappointing trailer was INSURRECTION. The few I saw in 1998 didn't impress me very much.

First Contact....I watched it over and over...

The 3rd trailer from ST09, wow, the best trailer ever, AND it won awards!

RAMA

The GENERATIONS ones are pretty good too. Especially the first teaser one with the booming narration and V'Ger/TMP music in the background.

Those were good trailers, but the movie unfortunately was never released.

The teasers and trailers for ST'09 are all great. Surprisingly, I think the teaser and trailer for NEM are extremely good - far superior to the actual film, itself.

Agreed. The NEMESIS trailers were a lot better than the movie ended up being. Had the entire film been 45 seconds long it might be one of the best TREK movies ever.

My favorite would be ST:TMP--probably because they were bringing Star Trek back, and it was going to be a movie. I remember the first time I saw that trailer in a theater; the whole audience applauded (that was before it was considered nerdy/uncool to be into Star Trek).

Followed by TWOK, TUC, ST 2009.

The TMP television commercials narrated by Orson Welles were pretty great, too...especially the one entitled "Enterprise" where Orson talks about the ship having to leave drydock early "to face the greatest mystery ever to confound the human race." The Jerry Goldsmith score really adds to the impact of those old-school TV ads.

Agreed. Nemesis trailers were good. But then again, I thought The Dukes of Hazzard trailer was good too and that was even a bigger dud than Nemesis.

The best one though is the third Trek09 trailer.

Hell, the KANGAROO JACK trailer was funny as hell. Trailers are notorious for showing too little of what turns out to be a great film OR cramming most of the good scenes in a disappointing or horrid flick into a 45-second TV spot. I almost never go by a trailer to determine if a movie is good or not.
