Warning: this is a distinctly Trekker-esque thread featuring a rant about questionable driving decisions, complete with detailed charts. The OP is aware of this but was so completely blown away by the sheer ridiculousness of what he witnessed that it had to be made known.
Now that that's out of the way...this is what I witnessed through the front windows of my workplace today.
Below is a fairly accurate representation of the parking lot right in front of my work. Being the Sunday right before Memorial Day, we were understandably slow. As you can see, there is only one car in the parking lot. That would be mine, shown here as a blue box. There were a few cars parked here and there but the point is that there were no cars anywhere near mine. The closest was maybe 10-15 parking spots away in either direction. Those gray boxes are those planters with trees that end up turning the parking spots in front of them into nearly useless "compact" spots. My workplace is shown as the white/gray portion at the bottom of the image.
See that white car? I watched as it pulled into the parking lot.
And then it did this.

That's right. This guy chose THE most difficult spot to park in, coming mere INCHES from scraping the side of the ONLY car in the parking lot in front of the business he came for. After he "parked" (he kept the car in the position in the last image) a lady, presumably his wife, got out (almost hitting my car yet again with the door as she did so) and came into the store to print some photos from a CD. The dude sat out in the car while she did so. Her problems with the printer she was using proved she and her husband not only share a mortgage and bank accounts, but also a single brain cell.
I just...I don't get it! I specifically parked further away to give customers access to the parking spots in front of the store. And ALL of said spots were open! Not to mention every other spot that wasn't adjacent to my car.
What the fuck?
