What should I get on Blu-ray?

I'm planning to get some old Star Trek films with the new one for Christmas or my birthday, but I'm by no means a completist (I have about six Bond films (would like to get more), four Star Wars, three X-Mens, and since I haven't got the Terminators or Aliens I'd probably just buy the first two in both series - I'm very cautious about what I request from other people even if they want to be generous). I'm certainly want to get Wrath of Khan and Undiscovered Country because I saw those as a kid and really loved them, and First Contact's really good and I'd love to get that too. But I've never seen Search for Spock and Voyage Home, which are actually the only other well-reviewed films and form a trilogy with TWOK. Am I really missing out by not actually watching how Spock was resurrected?

Well, considering you can get all the TOS ones in a boxset, I'd get that. Personally, I love TFF over TSFS and TVH, so each to their own.

It is almost always cheaper to puchase a set of Trek films than the trilogy or individually. Keep in mind ONLY Star Trek II TWOK was a full restoration in 2009's Blu-ray release.
Gotta figure down the road Paramount Home Video will rerelease on Blu-ray for other TOS era films fully restored... (2014-2016 circa).
And if its price the TNG films on Blu-ray probably will be reduced after 2010 Summer.

Hey thanks for the information; I didn't know they hadn't restored any of the films besides 'Wrath. What about the directors edition of 'Motion Picture? Didn't they restore that with Robert Wise re-editing it in the early 2000's?

Yes but that was only done at standard DVD resolution, not Blu-Ray. The Blu of TMP is the original theatrical version. The last time that was available was in a box set of films 1-5 on LaserDisc in 1991 to promote the theatrical release of TUC.
