What kind of life did they grant SG1's Torment of Tantalus guy upon returning to earth?

There was a line in a later episode that mentions Katherine Langford and Ernest Littlefield were living together after he was rescued. Since this was a military operation-which he worked for, we can assume he didn't need pressure to not reveal to the public where he'd been. Though one wonders what any surviving relatives (if he chose to contact them), would have been told.

Presumably he lived with Katherine, therefore taking care of his financial needs. I would say they lived happily ever after, but Ernest was likely dead before the eighth season anyway, since he didn't attend Katherine's funeral.

Or maybe he was de-aged, had his memories wiped, somehow acquired a Scottish accent and was sent to the Pegasus Galaxy.
