What I've always wanted to ask...

Flying Spaghetti Monster

Vice Admiral
Admiral
First, the last scene of the film.. is kinda special.. showing the TOS characters, in the same kind roles we remember them in, with the kind of chemistry we remember, ready to set off in a new adventure. Pine in particular, really channels Shatner, making this scene by itself worht the price of the DVD.

However, in structure, this scene seems to serve the same purpose that all the last scenes in each new Trek pilot: now, after the inital obstacles, we are ready to set off.

So, imagine that Star Trek (2009) was acutally the pilot to the new show rahter than a new film franchise. What would the next episode be like? What would the next season or two be like? What adventures would you write, what arcs would you follow or create? How many seasons would you run the show and how would the last episode play out?

I would use the idea I had for the sequel, but just make it an episode I supose. I would have it basicly catch up almost imideately where the movie left off. There would be a refugee effort to move the Vulcans to the "New Vulcan" and Spock Prime would lead that effort. Spock Prime would assume another name and would be in charge via recomendstion from Admiral Pike. Meanwhile Kirk, Spock, Mcoy, another blue shirt and a red shirt are on a planet exploring when they get called back to the Enterprise. The non bumpy head Klingons have infultrayed Starfleet and have taken the refugees hostage, while the bumpy heads are in orbit for protection. "New Vulcan" is in or near Andorian space, this creates tension. Some Andorians are coerced into helping the Klingons. This creates a rift in the Fed. The Klingons got some info from Nero when they were torturing him and this is thier motivation, plus they know they can manipulate the Andorians, which could cause an internal war in the Fed. They will be able to easily control the Federation planets once that happens. It is up to Kirk to Rescue Spick Prime and the hostages. Meanwhile in orbit Pike is in charge of an armada which is waiting. They are trying to avoid all out war, but if Kirk is not sucesfull or something goes wrong, then who knows what will happen. The final piece of the puzzle will be how the refugee hostages are bieng treated by the Klingons with torture and the suspension of habious corpus and whatnot. This will change some of the Andorians agianst the Klingons and some will become racist towards Vulcans making things even more complicated. This would probably be either a 3 parter or a season long arc with other stuff in between, but I would rather wrap it up in 3 episodes. The season would end with us seeing the Enterprise E Data and Picard discussing Spock Prime's disaperance.

Nimoy probably would not do another Trek film, but I think the administrator of 'New Vulcan' should be T'Pol.

She doesn't have to look as withered as she did in E^2. She'd be about 170 years old now, that's in the prime of life as far as Vulcans are concerned.
