What Is Your Favorite Time Of Day?

Portal

Commander
Red Shirt
Mine is dusk, because the colors in the sky are so beautiful.

So if you have a favorite time of day, what is it and why do you like it so much?

Night. Anything past sunset. It's quiet, no one is bothering me or calling on the phone, my dogs are sleeping (or at least not being rowdy and making noise).

I have two. Early morning and early evening, both for similar reasons. Early morning before most people are out and about on their way to work, therefore nicely quiet and restful. Early evening because most people have got back from work and it's nicely quiet and restful.

The busy day between those two times may have the daily bustle of life, but early morning/evening just seem to hang there waiting for something to happen. I love it.

If I'm working, it's after 7 pm--work done, getting dinner prepped, a little time to myself before hubby rolls in.

If I'm not working, it's between 1-4. I like the afternoons. No traffic, shops aren't crowded, the neighborhood is quiet.

Bed time. The period between the end of all daily activities and the uncertainty of unconsciousness, when my imagination starts to run wild.

It's even better if I make an effort to delay the inevitable onset of sleep for as long as possible. Who knows what sort of antics I'll get up to?

I love early morning just after the first light. I love the dew on the grass, the quietness of the neighborhood, the sound of birds, possibly a view of the moon in the sky. It's when I feel most hopeful (new day, positive attitude, lots of good childhood memories around that time of day, etc.). When this first happens in the springtime, I am at my best.

I also enjoy about 10PM after the sun has gone down, the night sky is clear and the breeze crisp, especially in the winter time. I love it for similar reasons. Not everyone is asleep, but there's little traffic on the roads. It's late enough that I feel like I'm cheating while I am out. It's just an amazing feeling. Reminds me of good memories as well.

:)

Morning twilight's my favorite. Just before sunrise, just before birdsong.

If I have actually gotten a good night's sleep, morning. I love waking up early and getting shit done.

Unfortunately, I am a bartender, so I usually don't even get home from work until around 4am, so morning is my bedtime.

When not working, my favorite time of day is around 1-4pm. I'm actually a morning person and most productive from sunrise to about 11am. So after I've got all my chores done and had some lunch, the early afternoon is the best because I can just relax, enjoy the sounds of the neighborhood, watch some light and fluffy daytime talk shows, read a book, take a nap, etc. There's also just something about the way the light hits objects at this time of day that is really appealing to me. After I've eaten dinner I generally get too tired to do anything fun and just end up going to bed early. So the middle of the day is generally the best. I especially love it on a weekday, when I know that most people are at work, because I get to see the world going about its business without having to engage in it. :)

When I do have to work, there is no favorite time of day, it all sucks. I guess from 6pm-9pm, because that is the only free time I have.

Surely the best time of the day, is the time you finish work at. Then you can relax and do what you want to do.

Dusk is also the time when everything is just about finished radiating its heat from the day and starting to get cool as the sun sets. I enjoy being outdoors during this part of the day, before the mosquitoes start to attack.

Nighttime. I have frequent trouble sleeping anyways and am routinely up at that time to begin with, but it's also the quietest time of the entire day and I like the darkness and the ambient noises you often hear during the middle the night. They can be rather poetic and beautiful.

I enjoy dusk. I like sitting on my back porch after dinner with a glass of wine while the kids enjoy some play time in the backyard before their baths. Put on a little music or listen to a baseball game and I'm content.

If I have to get up early, the early morning. It's so peaceful and calming. If I get up later, than late night just because of the same reason.
