What is Up With Gowron's Head!

Check this out:

Man I love Gowron, what a great character, over the top and those eyes! His ocular popitude has kept me on the edge of my seat for decades but I just have to ask, has anybody ever noticed that the top of his head looks kind of dirty?

Is this my twisted mind or where the makeup people pulling one over on us?

How about this female Klingon's forehead? It was either the last episode or near the last episode. Her forehead is noticeably several shades darker than her face. I've never seen this on a Klingon before, so I assumed it was a mistake:

No, it's definitely the make-up. You can tell when she moves (sorry I can only post an image). Just curious if anyone else noticed.

I have season 7, so I'll have to see if I can find the scene and get a few comparative screenshots, if that's where it's from. It's possible she's wearing an appliance that was made for a darker skinned actor originally, and they didn't match her face makeup to it.
