why is it after the big celebrity break ups, people state what side they are on by saying "I am on team Brad" or "I am no team Jennifer" as it anyone gives a toss.

why say "we are on Team Andre" rather than "we have no opinon on such stupid matters".

I remeber a recent interview with some nobody talking about Angelina Jolie, and how she was a good actress, but she said she shouldnt really say that as she was on "Team Jennifer"

do some people have such boring little lives, that they can only view it by supporting a celebrity as if they were a sports team?

And some people have such boring little lives that they actually post on message boards and with great frequency...and wait it gets worse...these message boards can be specialized...for example...the other day I was surfing around and I saw a message board dedicated to Star Trek fans....I mean talk about losers!

I've never heard of this "Team" stuff before. I guess it either never caught on here or hasn't started yet. Personally, I avoid all the celebrity crap like the plague.

im not sure, but it might have been the Brad Pitt & Jennifer Aniston split that started the whole thing

lol, people who live for sports teams are not much better

At least a sports obsession involves talk of strategy, athleticism and team spirit-- lending itself to social activities and interaction. Celebrity gossip is completely, 100% shallow.

Why does "That's so baaaaad" sometimes mean "That's so goooood" but other times it means that it's really terrrrrrrrrible? Why all of a sudden a few years back was everybody in corporate circles talking about "synergy" and "herding cats" and "empowerment"? Why did TPTB at my place of employment take the opportunity during reorganization to change all of our "divisions" into "teams"? And why did an earlier management team change all of the "departments" into "divisions"?

There are fashions and fads in words and phrases just as there are fashions and fads in clothing and cars and pretty much anything else. You have apparently run into one of them, Wamdue. Don't worry - it'll almost certainly dissipate pretty soon. Most things do.

because some asshole got stuck in the 90s? that was when all that 'team-building' and 'team-bonding' shit started wasn't it?

if they ever took me on a 'team bonding' exercise to go paintballing, I'd be shooting my 'team' in the fucking head.

I can answer that. Yes. I mean really. WTF cares? :vulcan:

I can honestly say this trend has passed me by, but maybe that's because I'm part of Team Who Gives a Fuck?
