What Is A Good Economical F***ed Up Drink?

Tonight I had one of the very few bar nights I ever have any more, and I learned an always sad lesson. It is not 1994 anymore. $8 for a watered down Jack and Coke?! Back in the day it seemed like I was drinking mixed drinks all night, got completely wasted, and still had money left over for the strip club. But nowadays I order a drink, it is gone in 10 minutes, I don't remotely feel buzzed, and I am staring at my wallet. These small watered down drinks aren't cutting it anymore. I don't drink beer so I need a drink that is really going to last me for awhile, but can also really get me buzzed. I'd order a Long Island, but I don't always like the taste of those. Does anybody have a good drink they order in a bar that:

A) Has a strong alcohol content, but tastes good.
B) Is large enough that you can nurse it for a good while
C) Is usually not overly expensive.

Or, depending on how much you like the taste of booze: martinis and manhattans would probably do the trick.

Really, though, I would recommend going to some cheaper bars! I never pay any more than $4 for a mixed drink, and they're certainly never watered down.

Or, have a shot of whiskey every 30 minutes or hour and try to get over that need to stand with one hand in your pocket and the other holding a drink in front of you. You'll look more confident (not saying that's your problem at all...I'm just thinking out loud) than all those guys that do that.

I'm gonna go with "Find another bar." If you're paying out the ass and getting "watered down" drinks...a change in order won't do much to fix that. I used to frequent a place that charged a cover, played obnoxious music and had drinks that were more ice than alcohol. I then found a a new place right down the street with no cover, decent music and while the drinks were about the same price, they kicked some serious ass. The ass being mine.

Or find places with really awesome drink specials and drink nothing but those specials all night.

Or do shots of really crappy tequila.
