Hilarious, if Storm Troopers were accurate.

Right...seemed pretty effective in the opening of STAR WARS.
Or bad jokes. What everyone seems to forget is that the Stormtroopers on the Death Star in ANH were intentionally missing so that our heroes could make it back to the Falcon and then fly off to the Rebel base, at which time the Empire would know the location of the Rebel base.
But I guess that doesn't make for amusing memes.
Very true. Stormtroopers are mostly for show, more a means of scaring an enemy rather than being an effective fighting force against a credible enemy,I also think that stormtroopers really aren't used to people firing back at them. Stormtrooper armor is lightweight and not even remotely blaster-resistant.
Stormtrooper armor is incredibly restrictive, as proven in the real world incident a couple years ago where police were called to deal with a "masked individual armed with a rifle" which was in fact a fan in stormtrooper cosplay. When the responding cops arrived on the scene, they pulled their own guns and yelled at her to drop her weapon and lie on the ground. While she did immediately drop her (toy) rifle, she couldn't lie on the ground because the stormtrooper armor doesn't allow one to easily do that. Though the responding cops didn't care and ended up beating her into submission even while she was very visibly attempting to comply but having obvious difficulties doing so.If a stormtrooper has to duck incoming fire, that may also affect their aim as well, IMO.
The Empire would have quashed the Rebellion.
Jump to TESB, and we can hear the Rebel's message "Imperial troops have entered the base" go to static on the intercom--obviously because he was shot.
So amusing I rolled my eyes and turned the episode off.Anyway, for better or worse, stormtroopers' reputation as being bad shots has been 'cannnnnnnnnnonized' in-universe in The Mandalorian (even if the intent was really humorous 'lampshading' or an in-joke for the audience's amusement
Which is a meta joke as Luke's "I can't see a thing in this helmet" line in the original film was reportedly adlibbed due to limited visibility.Rebels also included a joke about stormtroopers' lack of marksmanship, sort of. When disguised in stormtrooper armor, Rex gets into a firefight, during which he's unable to hit a target. Rex complains the helmet makes it impossible to see anything, takes the helmet off and is instantly able to hit his targets accurately.
