What if Maquis and Starfleet crew complement sizes had been reversed?

I agree with others saying that Chakotay won't mutiny. Despite sheer #s in his favor he still may have acted in a pragmatic manner, attempting to merge with Janeway's crew and work alongside them in some fashion. However, with the numbers were reversed Chak might have gotten more resistance from his Maquis mates to the point where they rebelled and threw both C and J in the brig for the duration of the trip. Try that one on for size JC people! What the heck else are you gong to do spending the rest of your natural born life (or even the next 7 years) in the brig?

Yes, this. I also don't think B'elanna would be interested in a mutiny but she has enough loyalty to chakotay that if he wanted to she would be on his side.

Though interesting drama...what if there was a chakotay led mutiny after season 4 would she side with chakotay or janeway since that's the side Tom would be on?

In the Voyager Conspiracy she sided with Chakotay. Their relationship, and what they went through as Maquis, is truly a missed opportunity imo. They only barely touch on it in Extreme Risk.

Chakotay was the kind of a guy where he wouldn't just streal someone else's ship. He'd steal an enemy ship, but Starfleet isn't his enemy, they're... the opposition.
In my headcannon, the Maquis were fractious: Torres wouldn't follow Seska nor vice-versa. The only person who could lead a mutiny (and get them all to follow) is Chakotay, and he won't do it.

Totally agree. I believe Chakotay could have lead a mutiny. His crew were totally loyal to him. Even Janeway acknowledged this is Learning Curve. In Parallax he is approached by Seska about mutiny. He shuts it down. Seska doesn't continue. She seems to realise without Chakotay's support she could not succeed.

I wonder if he could have succeeded with the Starfleet crew in Equinox. His crew would follow him. Not sure about the rest.
