What about the brown and white cows? Do they not have rights or is it their jobs just to give us chocolate milk?Dammit, what do cows have to do with this?

I only drink the blood of alcoholics.
This may just be the stupidest thread I've ever read on the BBS. Is there an award for that?

Your welcome, Data. The best use of this clip is with the gazelle speech, though. [yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=unCL8uSMuC0[/yt]
Are you referring to the 1967 launch-pad fire that killed three astronauts? That capsule was retroactively named Apollo 1. Apollo 7 was the first manned mission of the Apollo program, and it was a complete success.Had they used an event like Apollo 7 burning, or the Challenger disaster as analogy for the dangers risks that need to be faced and overcome the speech would have worked better.

The Data edit just makes it complete. The speech, itself, just doesn't convey exploration and overcoming dangers as the analogy to gazelles doesn't really work. That development is natural and inevitable, unlike technology. Also, the dangers for the gazelle are natural evolutionary ones, unlike those from technological innovation and exploration.
Had they used an event like Apollo 1 burning (thanks scotpens), or the Challenger disaster as analogy for the dangers risks that need to be faced and overcome the speech would have worked better. Basically something like Kirk's Risk speech was needed, as it was, not horrible, just gazelles learning to walk are not terribly effective for Archer's point.
