What games are you playing currently?

Steam Summer Sales are ongoing, which is always a bad time for my wallet.

Based on recommendations i got a game called Cyber Knights: Flashpoint. A turn based tactical team game in the style of X-Com, set in a future Cyperpunk world.

If you have ever played the Shadowrun or Cybperpunk tabletop RPGs then this is the videogame for it.

It's from an indie studio, so no flashy huge cutscenes or things like that but a nice game with a huge skill tree for every character type and class, tons of gear options and base development. If you are into these games it might be for you, i'm enjoying it.

I got Robocop: Rogue City for £4.39, Hot Lava for £3.87 and Battlefield 2042 for £2.49

Doubt i'll get anything else.

digging out my old Gamecube games from a plastic storage tub so I can replay Resident Evil 0, Resident Evil Remake and replay Star Wars Rogue Squadron 2.

weird thing is that Im somehow missing WWE Day of Reckoning 2. I thought I still had that game with the rest of my games. Dunno what I did with Day of Reckoning 2. I must have unintentionally got rid of it back in 2021 when I was moving. hate it when that happens.

I saw a really weird gamecube video where I think Jill or one of the females has a horde of zombies eating her but it looks more like a dirty video due to where they are eating her

Finished up WrestleQuest last night and that was a fantastic game. I don't even have all that much interest in wrestling, but I had a blast with this one. This is basically a turn-based RPG set within a toyroom world lampooning 80's and 90's wrestling, where because a bunch of different type of toys come together, you get a bunch of different wrestling disciplines. The story is split between two groups of wrestlers out to save wrestling, who have their separate stories. I clocked in around 65 hours, so it's fairly decent in terms of length.

I started Disco Elysium, what a weird game. I just died because I sat on a chair while talking to Evrart Claire. Or I quite because my character can't take it anymore while talking to him So I think I evade him for the moment.
And I get the feeling that money is important, has anyone some advise?

Character status and mental states are very important things in this game, especially when you start out as you can be quite fragile. You really have to watch them carefully as they can end you at a moment's notice. Main thing is to watch what you say during interactions and conversations. The game really wants you to explore to find clues, and by exploring you'll be able to find items to modify your stats, or generally useful items such as a crowbar and flashlight. That includes scrounging around for things to sell on your first day as soon as you're able to, as you'll need to pay off your room, otherwise you can find yourself in a softlock with no way to proceed.

Don't be afraid to experiment on the different approaches you can take to a situation. Also, when something seems impossible, you can always come back around to at a later point. It is a bizarre game, but once you get the hang of it, it will become easier, and it can be quite a rewarding experience.

For example, in my playthrough, I got to a certain point where my character was made to understand that he couldn't be everything and be affected by everything, and then he became less affected overall by status effects, essentially becoming stronger willed.

On the 2nd day is when things really start to open up as you unlock the left side of the map allowing you to do a bit of exploring. This is also when the mystery surrounding the main character really starts to unfold. It also might sound tempting to deal with Cujo right away, but leave him for later when you've opened things up a bit more and you've got better stats.

Thanks for your advise!

So if i don't have the money i have to restart the game?
I have played a lot of RPG games but this one is indeed weird

Yeah, I found myself in that predicament the first time around. I had no idea what I was doing of course, and I had a slower PC which didn't like the game much. It was a discouraging situation. Managed to get back to it about a year ago with my current PC, and I can't remember exactly what I did, but things turned out differently that time around and I managed to talk my way out of having to pay, so there are different ways of doing things, but conversations are an integral part of the game as there is no combat in the traditional sense. The key thing to the game is being able to unlock dialogue paths that will let you proceed.

I died by looking into an envelope before even getting to autopsy. Disco is weird af but it's also kinda awesome. I didn't like it at first but it grew on me. As for money... beyond scrounging you can also flat out ask people for money. Your guy will be fragile as hell at first to any kind of psychological trauma so you have to pay attention to the blue bar and use the health items.

Tried to return to "Escape from Tarkov after years away and it's still in BETA and more unplayable than ever. Got into one game and after that it would never load into another and crashed multiple times. After wasting an hour, I just uninstalled the dam thing. It's basically just a scam at this point and I hope the dev team goes under.

I can't find a bloody slow paced shooter to play at all these days. I can't stand the ADHD crap the FPS market has become these days.

Papercut: The game! :D

Or so that's what it felt like at times. But for me, the game got better once the game opened up a bit more and you got more background on your character. Once you realize the character is quite an asshole, you kind of just have to do your best and run with it and sometimes leverage in your interactions to get the results you want.
