What episodes am I missing?

gvn2fly

Fleet Captain
Fleet Captain
I watched a lot of TOS episodes as a kid in the 90s and really enjoyed most of them but there were a lot I didn't remember or haven't watched. I recently went through a rewatch of the episodes I had watched as a kid and tried to fill in the gaps based on some online ratings but still skipped around . Below is a list of all the TOS episodes I have watched...are there any other favorites you think I'm missing or is this pretty much a good list?

The episodes with * are the ones I didn't like as a kid and didn't rewatch recently. Anything not noted are episodes that I generally enjoyed.

Season 1
Where No Man Has Gone Before
Corbomite Maneuver
Mudd's Women* didn't like this episode
The Enemy Within
Man Trap
The Naked Time* didn't like this episode
Charlie X
Balance of Terror
What are Little Girls Made of? (I actually first watched this last night and enjoyed it)

The Conscience of the King (not sure i would rewatch this it was ok but kind've slow)
The Menagerie
Squire of Gothos
Arena
Tomorrow is Yesterday
A Taste of Armageddon (watched this for the first time last year and really liked it)
Space Seed
This Side of Paradise (watched this for the first time last year and really liked it)

Who Mourns for Adonais?
Amok Time

The Immunity Syndrome
A Piece of the Action (wasn't a huge fan of this one)

The Ultimate Computer (watched this for the first time last year and really liked it)

Season 3
Spock's Brain
Is There In Truth No Beauty
The Tholian Web
Day of the Dove
Whom Gods Destroy* this was just ok. Felt like there wasn't enough plot for the run time.
All Our Yesterdays
Turnabout Intruders* didnt like this episode

Thanks. I’m not looking to watch all of them - what I was looking for were any underrated episodes or episodes people may personally like (even if the episodes are
Flawed) that weren’t on my list.

I would add:

Court Martial
The Galileo Seven
Dagger of the Mind
Operation: Annihilate!
Metamorphosis
Friday’s Child
The Empath
Requiem for Methuselah
For the World Is Hollow and I Have Touched the Sky

I would also recommend Wolf In The Fold from the second season as a some what underrated episode that I think is really good.

Already mentioned but you can't go wrong with "The Galileo Seven," "Operation: Annihilate!" and "Obsession." These are some of my favorite episodes. Also "The Changling" and "By Any Other Name" are both good. Another is "The Omega Glory" which is very polarizing, lots of people love it and lots of people hate it, lol, "Bread and Circuses" fits in that category also but I love it. For third season episodes, try "The Paradise Syndrome" which is a very unusual episode and also "Wink of an Eye" which is outlandish but really interesting.

Good Luck, I envy you discovering "new" original Star Trek episodes!!

Absolutely. I just mentioned this on another thread; that's my second favorite. I didn’t see the need to make this all about me, but actually, why not - the original list is missing about half of my rather unconventional or unusual Top Ten. I covered Obsession and you added Wolf in the Fold, but I also love and would recommend Friday's Child (fantastic Kirk and Scotty episode with a fast-moving plot and tremendous dialogue), Return of the Archons (archetypal "let's visit this screwed-up mystery planet and straighten it out" show and iconic sci-fi plot), and Wink of an Eye (my favorite guest star in all of TOS in Kathie Browne, remarkably uncharacteristic ending, and the best and most convincing "Enterprise immobilization and/or takeover" ep).

Others that were not on the original list that are in my 11-20 range are The Changeling (superb plot, Shatner and Nimoy at their best), By Any Other Name (extremely entertaining and action-packed, with one unforgivable outrage), and my ultimate sleeper, The Cloud Minders (an, uh, ironically well-grounded plot involving the seamy workings of the Federation, and as a bonus, Starfleet equipment works).
